I Hate Election Years

I posted over at Dr. S's blog about how much I hate politics during election years.
I'm a Libertarian, not a card-carrying member, but my ideology fits with the Libertarian viewpoint more so than any other "party", mainstream or otherwise.
But, that's neither here nor there.
I can talk politics, I have an opinion, I am open-minded though and will actually listen regarding topics I don't know much about and will respectfully disagree with you on matters where I will not change my mind and at the same time will honor the fact that you may never change yours, and that's OK.
Election years wear me out.
I hate the commercials.
I hate the mudslinging.
I hate the whole thing.
So, I won't be discussing politics...and I generally don't go out of my to start up political discussions in any group. There are far more interesting things to discuss.
I'll leave you with a quote, because of my current "pissed-offedness" feeling as of late.

"To err is human, but it takes a politician to really screw things up."

Yeah, I agree that election years stink. I have my opinions and many people don't share the same ones I do and that's okay! But, I get so upset when I see commercials on tv that are just put downs of the opposing candidate. No matter what...when I see a commerical like that it puts a bad taste in my mouth of the person supporting the commercial...completely unnecessary! (stepping off soapbox now. :))

Agreed. The vitriolic atmosphere to politics has gotten so oppressive that I can hardly stand it anymore. Crooks calling each other crooks.
