Comment Whoring, Blog Pimping, Linky Loving Contest

I’ve seen some posts in the last couple days about today being a day to de-lurk, make sure you comment on all the blogs you read, etc etc. Great concept. I’m all about that.

This is my own little psycho contest I’ve been conjuring for awhile. I know how you people like the sidebar bling. And I’m all about a comment whoring, blog pimping, linky love in. Seventy million blogs…some of us need to have a bit of fun with it, we can’t all be political spin types or techie experts or fashion police.

Some of us are just here to say stupid stuff. So this one’s for you.

In the interest of total dorkness, aside from the fascinating technology behind stat counters and the like, I also have a Technorati fixation. I don’t know how it works, but it is SO entertaining! I found people, because of Technorati, who had me on their blogroll and I never even knew it. Wow! And according to Jeni, you don’t technically have to put somebody in your blogroll for their Technorati number to increase, just do a post like she did. I’ll take her word for it on that, no reason not to.

So, I did mention something about a contest, right? Maybe I didn’t yet, I don’t know. I have in my head, does that count?

2 points – you send one of your readers over here to comment. That person must say “Blogger X sent me over here to comment” so that you can get credit. I’m not a mind reader, so unless the new commenter says your name, you don’t get the points. They will also get their own point for making a comment.

5 points – you write a post about this post, with links over here. You must email me so I know you have done this.

7 points – write a post (like Jeni did here) about all the blogs you like to read, including mine, making sure to do links (Kind of like “if you build it, he will come”, this is “if you link it, Technorati will ping)

10 points – I’m on your blogroll or you put me on your blogroll, email me to confirm this as well (and when the contest is all over, I will reciprocate all the link love by adding you as well if you aren’t on there already…I do need to update it anyway)

This contest will be up and in effect until Midnight Central time, Tuesday October 9th. At that time I will tally the grand totals and declare a winner! So you have 7 solid days to be lovin and pimpin while I take a much needed out of town voyage (you can't rob my house, hubby and the kids will be here, sorry)
