You May Already Be a Winner!

There have been some minor travel hiccups I've blogged about in the past. The worst one I never even shared with you, but I was 7 months pregnant with Zach, and I took Haste (who turned 2 the day after we returned home, so let that age sink in for a moment) and flew, just the two of us, to see my dad and stepmom. We had delays, got on a plane and got off because of "bad equipment", and the capper...they lost my luggage, with every stitch of my maternity clothes in it (because we were there two weeks) and on one puddle jumper I got airsick because I was pregnant and they descended too fast. It was sixteen solid hours of SUCK. I have warned against being very pregnant and traveling with a toddler alone to everyone who would listen.

But, I can't win this particular contest, even after dealing with witch Michelle just last year or having my 3-year old manhandled in security or even paying a college girl to get us to the airport when the cabbie ditched us in D.C.

Here's the contest scoop, which I pretty much copied, because Hotfessional is glib, but not in the Tom Cruise way, in the good way -

Here are the rules:
* Blog about your absolute worst travel experience (train? plane? automobile? camel-back? the mode of transportation doesn’t matter - the sheer horror of it all does. Or the funny. We like to laugh.)
* Link to us (Sass Attack - And the Pursuit of Happiness - The Hotfessional) and display the badge above (with a link to this contest*)
* Get your entry written and posted before February 3rd, 2008.
* Email us at TravHellContest@gmail.com with the link to your post.

We’ll judge 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places for Excellent Prizes.

The Excellent Prizes (something to wear, something to display, something to keep you sane) will be announced soon after February 3rd (y’all, that’s the deadline, in case you missed it up top there).

*If you need the code to link the badge, send an email to the TravelHell Contest address. We’ll get you the code.
I must confess, I'm very excited about a joint contest with two other fab bloggers, it's a real energy zapper coming up with contests around here all by myself, sharing the staggering responsibility of a new contest (I keed, I keed) is very good, since I'm snowbound most days. It's all good, baby.

So, bust out the good (funny stuff), the bad and the ugly. And fasten your safety belt.

Ooh, I love this contest...I'll be participating.

And to reference the pregnancy travel....I'll be doing that in about 6 weeks when I'm 8+ months pregnant, but I won't be carting a toddler with me, and it's a direct flight, and my SIL is going along to hold my hand. =)

Does it already count if you've written about them previously?

Sounds like a very rough flight. I once held my thow-up in for 45 minutes on a bus trip from NY to NJ. Does that count for anything?

what a great idea! I'm sorda glad my own travel experiences have been pretty tame but nevertheless wish I had some awful story to add. oh well..maybe next time.

Thankfully, I don't have any experiences worth posting. I'm a little disappointed by that...but it should make for good reading!

Dude, I should have my mom guest blog on this one, she had a pregnant and traveling nightmare when I was a kid. I'll do my best to do it justice.
